Ladies of Kirk: #8, Shana.
Shana is a thrall, born and raised to fight gladitorial-style games for “the Providers.” When Kirk and company are enslaved as thralls, Shana is assigned to be Kirk’s trainer. Kirk quickly learns that the games are all Shana has ever known, and starts filling her head with ideas of travel, freedom…and, of course, love. But Kirk cruelly betrays Shana’s trust in a failed effort to escape. The Providers punish Kirk by assigning him to a duel: a fight to the death against an enraged Shana.
