Bobby pretends he doesn’t hear the hitching sound that Dean makes, like something’s trying to tear him apart from the inside, when they are about to leave. Pretends he doesn’t see how Dean bends down to place a soft kiss on his brother’s slack lips, how his hand cradles Sam’s cheek.
In all the time he’s known the Winchesters, Bobby’s done a lot of pretending.
