I just watched the DISCO finally, so a few quick thoughts that I’ll maybe talk more tomorrow (it’s almost 3am here rn)
spoilers below the cut
So, I watched the new Discovery episode…
ok but the thing is
i’ve seen a lot of talk around about how Tyrell fell only for Mr. Robot, because the most important interactions and significant moments were with him and not Elliot, but it got me thinking
now it’s been a while since I watched s1 and s2 and I didn’t rewatch, but for what I remember Tyrell was making crazy heart eyes to Elliot as early as s1e1 (or maybe s1e2 but it was very early) and in other episodes as well (like that iconic restaurant scene) and it was all encounters with Elliot, and like
even when Elliot was trying to escape in the opposite direction, Tyrell was still pretty invested on him and trying so. hard to get him on his side and like
that scene with Mr. Robot in the last episode reads to me as a conclusion of all that one sided scenes we saw in s1. Tyrell knew Elliot was something else from his very first interaction with him, and now he was seeing it on action, and seeing an opportunity to act on it and be partners at least, and Mr. Robot saw something worthwhile in this alliance but like
Tyrell didn’t fell for Elliot in this scene. i’m not gonna pretend I can pintpoint the exactly moment he fell for him, but that scene where the partnership with Elliot/Mr. Robot is formed is sort of the confirmation of his feelings, not the source of him
When I was first getting into Bowie a few years ago, I found the Cracked Actor doc but I could never watch it - there was no subtitles for it anywhere, and my English simply wasn’t good enough to understand a whole film without it
But in the last week, my youtube page made a video recommendation of a Cracked Actor video and it occurred to me that now I’m fluent in English and I could watch it, so I did it yesterday ~~
It’s kind sad because he was in so, so much drugs and it’s pretty obvious how bad it was for him (and it would only get worst in the next few years), but at the same time it’s kind of…. fascinating? I loved the way it was filmed. The shots, the musical sequences… I don’t always enjoy docs, but this one felt very personal and good, I’m glad I fiinally saw it
Exactly! The way I see it working out would be that he’s not trying to win gold or break records anymore. He’s simply skating to compete, but he’s relying on yuri to break records and win gold for the two of them.
Right? I’m willing to be surprised in what they have in store for Victor, but I could see it working out fine if they decide to do this.
So, about yesterday episode
I’m very curious about how they’ll pull it off, now. Victor coming back to skating surprised me, mostly because he never showed interest in coming back? The only time I can remember he being more ambiguous about it was when a journalist asked him if he didn’t want to compete professionally against Yuuri and he didn’t answer and just made this face

But otherwise, especially in episode 10, he only talked about how much happier he was now, that he never experienced this kind of happiness before and all. I could see it as him coming back only to motivate Yuuri as a build up to angst… but I have a hard time seeing it, mostly because YOI uses angst on its narrative but it doesn’t thrive on it, but idk
The only personal reason I can see right now is that maybe Victor wants to have a new experience with skating. He said time and time again that he was so successful because he was alone/lonely, but now he saw how well Yuuri skated surrounded by his love and the love of his family friends, how much Yurio evolved as well and maybe he wants to see how he’ll be if he skate now as a man in love, maybe to find some fun in skating? idk, I don’t totally buy it but I could see something like this working out if he has another reason besides motivating Yuuri
But I have to confess that part of me is quite happy because Victor is my ultimate fav on YOI and I love to see him skating ~~
I’m kind of ok with Yuuri winning silver, because his decision to continue skating seems a bigger victory than the medal itself. Also I’m kind sad JJ got the third place and not Chris or Otabek. JJ proved himself to be a better person but tbh I still don’t like him
I planned to do a bunch of stuff today between more useful stuff (like dealing with college stuff) and doing some gifs, but I was struck down with really painful menstrual cramps so I did nothing today, I only lay down with my cat all day
Also I was tearing up at every mention/allusion at Spock Prime/Leonard Nimoy
So
I went to a symphonic orchestra on my city this morning. It was a tribute to the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death, so they were playing Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream songs. There was also a couple of actors who were reciting some dialogue from the play between the songs
It was a really good experience, and I enjoyed every moment of it. My first time seeing live orchestra, and I hope I can see it more times because it was a truly gorgeous experience.
So I was talking Hannibal Lecter with my friend today - she didn’t see season 3 yet, she’s waiting until it’s up on brazilian Netflix - and we were talking about the series and the Lecter movies, about how they’re such different takes on the same characters but they’re both so good in their own ways
And one of the things she told me was that she thought that Mads Mikkelsen’s Hannibal was colder, more heartless than Hopkins’ Hannibal - who seemed to care about Clarice, while Mads’ Hannibal wasn’t like this for anyone
And I managed to not give spoilers way (even if I was so very shocked, like ???), but friend, oh my friend
You have no idea what waits for you
