The Cast of “Star Trek: Deep Space 9“ - Avery Brooks, Nana Visitor, Michael Dorn, Terry Farrell, Alexander Siddig, Colm Meaney, Rene Auberjonois, Armin Shimmerman, Cirroc Lofton.

Alexander Siddig turns 48 today!
Born in Sudan on November 21, 1965, Siddig was raised in England and attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. Siddig’s performance in A Dangerous Man: Lawrence After Arabia brought him to the attention of Rick Berman who was creating the new series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Originally brought in to audition for the role of Captain Benjamin Sisko, Berman decided Siddig was too young for the role and cast him as Dr. Julian Bashir instead.
Siddig began working in feature films after the successful 7 year run of DS9, quickly accumulating roles in movies such as Vertical Limit , Reign of Fire, Kingdom of Heaven, Cairo Time, Inescapable, and the critically acclaimed film Syriana. [x]
Siddig is currently performing in the BBC television series Atlantis and will be attending two conventions this up coming year.
My dream episode, and I even pitched it to the writers, was a Cyrano version, which they did, but I actually directed, with Armin and Grilka and Worf. But I did it for Garak and Dax and so forth. Garak falls incredibly, hopelessly in love, but I did it with Bashir. But then Garak is this incredible lyric poet that’s writing poetry for…. .
Audience Member: Put that in the diaries.
Andy: Yeah, I’ll put that in the diaries. See you.

Unusual cast photo from season one - looks almost like a hair/makeup test. The lighting makes them look like waxworks.
Every single person in this photo is trying to figure out how to get out of it.
Except for Kira, who seems determined to make it through the day without laughing
Starbase: The Garak/Dr. Bashir Relationship is very interesting. It makes you wonder if they are really friends…?
ANDREW: Or are they something else! (laughs) That’s one of the funny things they came up with at the convention this weekend. What is their relationship and I said ‘you mean…
