Ira Behr & Andy Robinson Discuss Garak’s Initial Interaction With Bashir from What We Left Behind
Transcript: IRA BEHR: What did Garak think of Bashir? Was—Were they friends? Did they develop a friendship or was he using him the whole time? ANDY ROBINSON: At first he wanted to have sex with him. That’s absolutely clear. That’s all he wanted from him. “Come to my shop, I’ve got some nice clothes for you…but you’ll have to change first.” But then it really got complicated, especially when Garak’s addiction and despair began to surface. He needed someone to share it with.
tbh
i’m
so here for jake sisko going down to garak’s
shop and asking him for help with his stories, and garak helping him
like legitimately? Garak being super fucking vague about things and
making jake figure out what bit of the story he’s criticizing or what
he’s telling jake he should do and jake!!! loves it!!!
because
garak straight-up criticizes and
praises his work in the same fucking breath, and he’s so helpful but
so annoying oh my
god!!! garak!!
and
one night he’s sitting with garak a little after closing, hunkered
down over a story he’s editing as garak sews a new dress and listens
to him talk, and ziyal comes in to ask if garak would like to have
supper with her.
And
at the time jake is fetching a new spool of thread from the cupboard
for garak, and he comes back to find ziyal is reading through the
padd he’d left on the table.
“My
dear, i’ve a lot of work to be getting on with,” garak says
sweetly, “but I’m sure Mr Sisko will of course
accompany you to a meal, such a gentleman as he is.” and jake’s
like !!!! ! !! ! UM OKAY!! YEAH!! ZIYAL!! LET’S GO
and
ziyal and jake talk about jake’s story, and garak’s like :) yes :)
yesssss
Vic Fontaine & Nog Talk About Living Life in It’s Only A Paper Moon
NOG: You don’t seem hollow to me. VIC: Compared to you, I’m hollow as a snare drum. Look, kid, I don’t know what’s going to happen to you out there. All I can tell you is that you’ve got to play the cards life deals you. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but at least you’re in the game.
