tagged as: you know the reason of why I love DS9 above all other treks is the same of why I love torchwood more than doctor who; because in all other treks they can always move away and in ds9 they're stuck in the ame place with the same consequences; i mean - picard doesn't have to stay in the planet were tasha was killed; but kira and sisko have to walk in the station every day knowing that jadzia was killed right there; same with the doctor - he always runs away in the end because he's always moving on; but in torchwood they have to deal with all the shit; the doctor doesn't need to stay on earth after he loses rose in doomsday; but gwen and jack and ianto have to stay in the hub knowing that tosh died right there; so yeah I fucking love the trek shows in spaceships and I love doctor who; but nothing speaks better for me than ds9 and torchwood - having to deal with the shit without the possiblity of running away; Doctor Who; Martha Jones; Ten; Tenth Doctor; The Doctor; dw; Freema Agyeman; David Tennant; dw spoilers; ds9 spoilers; torchwood spoilers;

#i think this is a really important scene for martha #because she sees that the doctor is treating jack like shit #and the doctor KNOWS that he did wrong by jack #and yet he still doesn’t seem to care #he’s not apologetic or ashamed - he’s cruel and flippant #”busy life. moving on” because the doctor doesn’t look back #and i think it’s really important for Martha to see that #see that he’s AWARE of what he does #it’s not the doctor being a dick and not realizing it #(which is probably how she’s been rationalizing her experience with him this whole time)#but he’s actively aware that he’s being a douchecanoe and actively choosing to not do anything about it #and for her to realize that is probably one of the turning points for martha #it’s her realizing that the doctor is not being good to her (or for her) and that she needs to think about making a change #because in all actuality s3!doctor is not a man you really should want to be friends with #s1 s2 s4 doctor yes - they’re the doctor and they can be mean and grumpy and scary or whatevs but they’re still a good person #s3 doctor is not a good person #he’s grieving and his grief is turning him into a cold emotionless asshole #and this scene is martha seeing his douchebaggery from an outside pov #and realizing that it’s not okay to just forgive or write off or rationalize his cruelty just because she loves him #i have a lot of martha feelings ok (winterinthetardis)
