I did this a few months ago but never got around to posting it! It’s got a few coats of gloss over it, it’s very very glittery, and It’s on a 11x14 canvas. click through and check out the hi-res deatail shots!
I put it up on my etsy if anyone is interested! it’s $40+shipping.
Why don’t I return to my ship so that you’ll have time to think about it.

Ah, Judith Beheading Holofernes! A very Cardassian story for Terrans, a loyal citizen performing a somewhat distasteful act for the greater good of the State! Of course, Terrans have such a bloody history, usually by perpetrated by men, but this is one of the few depictions of women performing such things. An interesting choice of Valentine de Boulogne to paint Judith in a stance similar to cutting up a loaf of bread, when, of course, the neck isn’t quite so easily severed. Note her facial expression, practically impassive. Her maid, on the other hand, is much more grotesque, which is the most defining aspect of this piece as Terran and not Cardassian, as similar figures appear in Caravaggio’s works of the time, and contemporary Cardassian painters were much closer to Terran Romanticism at this time. The handling of light is very delicate, something that makes this painting much closer to Cardassian aesthetics in general. Now over here-
lemonsweetie wanted DD9 Garak mentoring Ziyal on Cardassian aesthetics and I’ve been thinking a lot this story and im feeling really nerdy about art history so it culminated in this! MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THIS PAINTING/STORY

hey guys! sorry this blog has been a bit quiet. I’m doing a lot of new work for a convention in June and had to put some projects on hold, including the next meme number thing due to what I have planned being time consuming.
IN THE MEANTIME, have some season one shenanigans ~

You’re still a Cardassian, Garak. You’re not going to kill one of your own people for a Bajoran woman.
