Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (IDW) - Fools Gold #4
Garak goes shopping for engagement rings.
‘I believe ringsare the customary jewellery in Terran culture for this occasion.’
Clumsy because of his own heavy Cardassian build, Garak shoved Dax out of the way of a streak of energy, and couldn’t clear it himself. One bolt glanced across his arm. The next taking a blow full in the chest, Garak slammed into the bulkhead beside Dax and skidded to the deck.
“Garak!” Bashir howled.
He crossed Sisko’s path toward the fallen Cardassian, right into the path of cross fire, toward Garak.
Under cover of fire from Sisko and Dax, he stooped at Garak’s side.
“It looks like we won’t be having lunch after all, Doctor,” the Cardassian gurgled pitifully. He got all the words out. That was his last bit of luck before he died.
Sisko caught Bashir bodily and dragged him back. “It’s too late, Doctor!” As he pulled Bashir away, Dax provided more cover. Under the whine of constant weapons fire they shuffled toward the airlock.
“Come on!” Against his arm and side Sisko felt Bashir pull back toward Garak. The doctor didn’t want to give up. What if Garak still had a shiver of life in him? What could it be like to leave him there like that?
Sisko knew. Knew and hated it.

Found these tantalizing bits in the script to “The Wire”.
Some should be taken as hormonally imbalanced Garak, methinks.
Ah, the joys of reading out of context.

Set in and written for the Deep Dish Nine universe, but I’ve been told it will work for just about any Garak and Bashir.

I made a small thing, I hope you enjoy it. Thanks as usual to tinsnip, who used the world’s sweetest peer pressure to convince me to post this.

Take into account that I realize ‘Garak’ later turns out to be the Lethean, but it’s still fun to read into things and wonder how Dr. Bashir’s brain works.
It is very interesting that when Julian attempts to rescue Jadzia from the villainous Lethean in his dream, he instead finds himself in the…
For taejira’s giant prompt list of two weeks ago. Satisfying the ‘Lizard People doing Lizard Things’ prompt a bit, hopefully.
Atrociously fluffy, post-canon, pg-13 for bed-sharing and all things implied therein.
SPECIES DIFFERENCES! My eternal weakness! Oh, but these were delightful—thank you for sharing! <3
