“if worf hadn’t come along it would have been you”
NO I REJECT THIS AND I CHOOSE NOT TO ACCEPT jadzia and julian were friends!!! he was a cocky tactless youth, she was serene and aloof– the fact that they became friends was important to their development! that ship has sailed!! it never even docked at the harbor!
okay okay okay *deep breath* I choose to believe this is Ezri feeling an attraction to Julian and passing it off as Jadzia’s– perhaps genuinely because she’s hella confused at this point, but hey maybe she’s got enough to handle right now.
YES YOU HAVE MY FULL THROATED SUPPORT, FRIEND.
I will buy that Jadzia ~enjoyed~ Julian’s inept flirting like Ezri said, but only in a “haha what a fun running joke we have and also no Julian it’s never going to happen” way.
I hadn’t thought about her attributing her feelings to Jadzia, that’s interesting! I had always thought she was trying to awkwardly make him feel better and realised how badly she’d misjudged it *as* the words left her mouth, because Ezri is also an awkward bean. But I like the idea that she’s just a big swirling mass of Dax emotions and memories at that point and she’s like “Why would I, Ezri, like Julian? I hardly know him! That must be Jadzia” if it’s even that articulated in her head.Butting in here, hi!
Personally, I think Ezri was really confused and frustrated and overwhelmed in that moment. Everything is so new! Or old! Both!
So, Ezri’s rather vulnerable to suggestion. And Joran takes the opportunity to whisper in her ear, “You know what would make this very forward young man go away? Saying the most hurtful fucking thing you can possibly excuse with post-Joining confusion. Go ahead. Try it.”
And so Ezri basically goes, “If someone better hadn’t come along, the woman you were in love with for years and who just died definitely would’ve fallen for you.”
And it works.
I’ve been wanting to do this for a while now. :’) I love the different skin tones the people on DS9 had. Hopefully you can tell who is who? Maybe ///’)
[edIT I touched it up a bit!]
In back to back episodes, none of Bashir’s friend notice he’s been replaced by a changeling, then his parents can’t tell they’re talking to a hologram instead of their son.
Like, wow, does anyone actually listen or pay attention to this guy?
