I’m suddenly having a lot of feels about an AU Kira and Dax where they’re buddy cops. Dax is gentle and jokey but a stickler for the rules; Kira is tough and passionate and thinks it’s OK to break the stupid rules. Dax is from a very priviledged background, and a long line of cops; Kira hasn’t had the same opportunities as Dax, but she feels like she understands the world much better than Dax does. Dax thinks science and meticulous research are the most important things; Kira likes to work by instinct. They both have a strong sense of morality. Dax thinks Kira needs to lighten up and lay off the local bar-tender; Kira thinks Dax is flakey. They bicker and keep asking Chief Sisko to pair them up with someone else. One day, there’s a huge threat on Kira’s old neighbourhood (maybe there’s a bomb threat from the extremist group, the Cardassians?) and Dax doesn’t think, she just does, and together, breaking all the rules, they save the day.
Then there is kissing.
I can’t allow myself to be put in storage when my people need me. I don’t want to wake to a Bajor still haunted by the Occupation.

My feelings about Odo and Kira ended up far more… complicated than I expected. Before I watched DS9 entirely I had only seen a few episodes one of which being “Heart of Stone” and I was so convinced that these two were going to be my favorite characters as a couple. But Odo’s self destructive feelings for her really made me nervous, so much so that I basically hoped he’d just get over her (I didn’t know they’d get together in the end). But they were super adorable and sweet once they were together and I was pretty happy for them.
Anywho I forgot a doodled this some weeks ago.
