I had a real problem with Rex’s attitude and Jack getting limited down on sexuality. Miracle Day felt like Brits trying too hard to be what they thought was American—part of that being highly judgmental. And one of the great things about Torchwood was always the *lack* of judgment on sexuality—-while Miracle Day makes Rex keep shoving a practically anti-gay attitude at us. That attitude shift of the show made it too hard for me to get past episode 4 of Miracle Day…
I hated Miracle Day the very first time I watched (probably because I had just finished CoE and I was feeling very, very bitter), but then I rewatched it a few weeks later, with a cooler head… and I ended up liking it. Not going to lie, it’s my least favorite season, and I still have a lot of issues with it - the attitude towards sexuality being one of them, and it’s very, very annoying - but it does have its good moments, like all the tension inside the team and the global chaos feels very real, even if I still think that the story could have been told in less than ten episodes, so the plot wouldn’t have become so tiresome.
