Do you ever think about how Odo CHOOSES to be a grumpy old man?

He:

1. Has the ability to look like anyone

2. Is 24 years old

I didn’t realize how relatable it apparently was to be 24 and chose to a be grumpy old antisocial man.

I had to take a breather from working on my thesis film and just paint for fun. So here’s Odo, from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. He is a very fascinating character, needless to say, and I really enjoy seeing the more alien interpretations of him. I’ve seen several artists here really exaggerate his nose and facial sharpness and I love it. Changelings seem to hold their “true” liquid nature as something sacred & superior, so I like to imagine they keep some features that resemble something “aquatic” or relating back to existing within a giant sea. I can imagine Odo with small bits of “ever shifting” lines or textures as a nod back to his truly alien nature.

This isn’t great, but it was refreshing and fun. When I have time, I think I’m going to do some more Odo studies.
