I think that the mind meld between Kirk and Sarek in ‘Star Trek: The Search For Spock’ is one of the most saddest things that I ever saw.

When Sarek is melding with Kirk, and repeting the last words of Spock, we see Kirk’s eyes. He looks like that is doing a powerful effort for don’t cry, but we can see tears in his eyes.

Y’know as a Kirk/Spock shipper, it still amazes me just how far back you could find fanart and fanfic. I mean this ship has been around since before the internet and people old enough to be my grandmother were (and probably are) shipping like crazy.

And the best part about the K/S fandom is that new people keep joining in and are still writing and drawing for the pairing, so the slash fountain never ends.
