You don’t have to do this. I’m okay.
How could that possibly be true?
Just eat… and talk if you want to. I’m here.
I absolutely love the relationship that Burnham, Tilly, and Stamets have built.
It started with a lot of distrust. Here’s Burnham, the mutineer, Tilly, the inexperienced cadet, and Stamets, the hard-edged scientist that takes his work super seriously. None of them got along in the beginning.
Now look at them. They’re so close emotionally. And they rely on each other in different ways. They all come up with different ideas, they all turn to each other to help those ideas flourish, and they all, to some extent, provide the other people in the group with much needed emotional support. Tilly’s support is emotional focused, Stamets’s support is work focused, and Burnham’s support is silent, physical, with stares and soft smiles and shoulder or arm touches. They believe in each other, but they also rely on each other and their strengths to get them through everything.
So nice. Much wow.
Stamets. I’m sorry. Words… words are not enough, and I know that… but I am.
I know in my head that you couldn’t be responsible for Voq’s actions but I felt your hands around my neck. And I looked into your eyes and I saw how much you wanted to kill me. The man that I loved wanted me dead. And no matter how hard I try, when I look at you now, I see Voq’s eyes. I see him. The crew may have put it behind them, but I can’t.
Paul Stamets and Hugh Culber + quotes from 01x12:
I don’t want to say good-bye. It’s never good-bye. Isn’t that what you’ve been trying to teach all of us? Nothing in here is ever truly gone. I believe in you, Paul. I love you. Follow the music, Paul. Look for the clearing in the forest. Open your eyes.
