Yes he did. Nomad, the box on a string in the third gif, is wiping Uhura’s mind and Scotty runs to her defence and gets zapped for his effort. His stunt double does an awesome flip over the railing and he is declared dead, by Bones of course. Nomad makes him better later, but the point still stands that he died trying to defend her.

So anyone who says the Scotty/Uhura relationship comes out of nowhere in Star Trek V can bite me.

I find it really hard to explain the immense love I have for Scotty, he’s such a passionate soul who’s fine just spending his whole life on the enterprise doin’ what he loves and UGHLGKSJDBBY.

I only enjoy TOS uhotty because AOS just doesn’t connect to me yet and I DO like spock and uhura together in the movies for reasons. But I basically enjoy every member on the ship with each other in both universes sooooo
