I think he’s grotesque and wanted to do a piece mixing it with sensuality. I looked up hyper stylized models as my reference, used club fashion to inspire the colors and outfit- Yep, dunno what more to say. He’s a celebration and a warning, a freakish, killer tease. Aggressively sexual even though he’s impotent. He’s not really my cup of tea but still fascinating and fun to use.

let! lestat! be! vulnerable! give louis a chance to support and help him in a way that isn’t just enablement! I love fics that explore louis’ kind of strength - not necessarily physical and aggressive, but his emotional and psychological resilience - because AR gets fixated on lestat being “ “Strong” ” and strength being a fixed singular concept so anyone who isn’t “strong” like lestat is obviously Weak and uughdjglkdsgjdslkjdslkgs. yeah. gross. LET LOUIS BE THE STRONG ONE SOMETIMES.

so I was thinking about how the two vampires who arguably caused lestat the most psychological and physiological trauma - magnus and akasha - both abducted him whilst he was sleeping, and like… that really seems like something that ought to have affected him????
SO. give me lestat with serious anxiety about how vulnerable the deathsleep makes him! give me lestat with ocd over ensuring his sleeping areas are properly fortified! give me lestat who, when the sun starts to come up, is most relaxed when he’s at the bottom of a cuddle pile with louis and mojo!! lestat is infinitely more interesting as a character and so much less unbearably obnoxious when the consequences of his extensive trauma get explored

From time to time, I take a break and ‘do what I want’, no matter how self-indulgent.
For some reason, in the last few days I’ve started thinking a lot about Vampire Chronicles and how much I loved some of those characters as a teenager. And I thought that it would be catarthic to finally paint them from imagination (and the odd reference from Pinterest XD).
So I present you the speed-painted version of Armand and Daniel Molloy.
I finished that mystique drawing early so I had a couple hours left over to have a go at a miles mcmillan Louis, which despite my initial hesitation is a facecast that’s really been growing on me. he wound up looking a little creepier than I intended, and I guess that’s probably appropriate.
