Nimoy: “Hirschfeld.”
Shatner: “Oh… you know, I don’t. Wait a minute, I don’t have a copy of this.
Nimoy: “Take it, it’s yours.”
Shatner: “Okay.”
[SFX: Nimoy laughing as Shatner removes it from the wall]
Shatner: “Whatta you laughin’ at?”
Nimoy: “Take it home, take it home.”
Shatner: “Okay, I will. Find this home.”
Nimoy, pointing to a publicity photo: “I think this is the first TV Guide cover we ever had.”
Shatner: “How many TV Guide covers have we had?”
Nimoy: “I don’t know. I lost track, but I believe that was the first one.”
Nimoy, referencing a historical illustration: “This is us, the Siamese twins.”
Shatner: “Yes, you and I…”
[SFX: Nimoy laughs]
Shatner: “Joined at the hip.”
Nimoy: “Now I don’t want you to think that Star Trek was my first science fiction.”
Shatner, pointing to Nimoy on the box: “Leonard, I see that. Zombies.”
Shatner: “What do you think about all this merchandising?
Nimoy, coughing, searching for words: “I still cannot…”
Shatner: “Get enough-”
Nimoy: “Completely get around it. Somehow I can’t… it’s hard to believe. It’s… a strange experience.”
Shatner: “It’s an industry through, isn’t it?”
Nimoy: “Yeah, it’s-”
Shatner: “I mean, when you think that billions- what’d they tell us? Billions. Two billion dollars?”
Nimoy: “Star Trek the industry is a class by itself.”
Shatner, regarding a photo of them in tuxedos: “Oh boy. That’s my favorite picture of us.”
Nimoy: “What year was that?”
Shatner: “Oh, who knows? All I know is that I was gettin’ a little- I cracked a joke and there was no laugh. Here is a-”
[SFX: Nimoy laughs]
Shatner: “Here is an actor-”
Nimoy: “Flops sweat.”
[SFX: Nimoy continues laughing]
Shatner: “Flops sweat Here is the definition of flop sweat!”
[SFX: Shatner begins laughing with Nimoy; Shatner pretends to dramatically cough]
Nimoy: “Is it warm in here or is it just me?”
Shatner: “Why am I so sweaty? Oh that’s my metabolism!”
Nimoy: “Here’s my Vulcan cap,”
Shatner: “Oh no! Leonard! Vulcan? USS Vulcan?”
Nimoy: “Yeah.”
Shatner: “Did they name it after the-”
Nimoy: “The coast guard ship. Coast guard ship called The Vulcan.”
Shatner: “And then you’ve got the Enterprise.”
Nimoy: “Well, of course.”
Shatner: “This whole house is dedicated to Star Trek.”
[SFX: Nimoy laughs]
Nimoy: “No, not the whole house. Just a little corner,”
Shatner: “Amongst all this beauty, to a large extent- to some extent, Star Trek is responsible.”
Nimoy: “Oh, yeah. To a very large extent. Right.”
Shatner: “So… it’s good, huh?”
Nimoy, chuckling: “Oh yeah!”
Shatner: “Star Trek was good.”
Nimoy: “Oh yeah!”
Shatner: “Yeah, I think so too. I really-”
Nimoy: “I agree.”
Shatner: “Really liked it. I like the show.”
Nimoy, while hugging Shatner: “You’re my best friend.”
[SFX: They laugh]
Shatner: “That, if it were for nothing else, right? If for nothing else, it would have been-
Nimoy: “This makes it worthwhile.”
Shatner: “Makes it worthwhile.”
