We were sure we’d never see an end to it all
And I don’t even care to shake these zipper blues
And we don’t know
Just where our bones will rest
To dust I guess

Hannibal Advent

Day 1: Apertiff

In honor of this wonderful 1st episode, with its gorgeous aesthetics and gruesome brutality, I wanted to share my favorite soundtrack from Hannibal. It’s the piano theme at the end of Apertiff. I think it’s a perfect segway into this wistful and contemplative time of year. Plus, an appropiate begining to this wonderful event as we delve back into Season One!

naeerys:

Written by Bush when she was 18, the song is based on the novel of the same name. Kate Bush was inspired to write the song by the last ten minutes of the 1970 film version of Wuthering Heights. She then read the book and discovered that she shared her birthday (30 July) with Emily Brontë. Bush reportedly wrote the song, for her album The Kick Inside, within the space of just a few hours late at night.

excuse me
I apologize
he likes your attitude, he tries it on for size
he spends the afternoon, between your thighs
how’s that for gratitude
I apologize

She wears her tears on her blouse
Confused and racked with self-doubt
She stole the keys to my house
and then she locked herself out.
