Gotta say that while I admire Rowan’s confidence in herself, I gotta say that her certainty that she is prepared for everything and she’ll not be fooled by Lasher looks a lot like Deborah being so sure that she was smarter and stronger than her mother and would never get her fate, only to be condemed to death in the exactly the same way for the exactly the same thing her mother was.

My reading of Witching Hour is currently slow because Rowan’s romance with Michael is a bit too boring for me. And also every time they’re going about how much they looove each other i keep thinking that they’ve know each other for like. four days

Also, I read this a few days ago and forgot to post, but this part did break my heart. Poor Deirdre, she didn’t deserve any of this. And it did feel like a rare moment of Carlotta being hit by the cruelty of what she was doing to Deirdre, how she was sacrificing her life in the long term.
