There’s a lot of things I love about Black Sails, and one of them is how at the core of the story, the biggest and more insidious enemy of people in all levels is civilization and society

Love it that Silver was secretly mad about what Flint did and went to Madi probably for support and then he gets even more mad because she agrees with Flint lmao

That last scene with Flint and Silver invading town… Billy also appearing and helping in the fight… Israel Hands killing that awful annoying man in a parallel of what he did last time with Blackbeard…

I knew Blackbeard’s death would be very hard to watch but ouch, that was so brutal, I found myself holding back tears and just thinking damn dude, just die already to get this agony over with :/

That scene between Jack and Blackbeard was so good… they both loved Vane a lot, in very different ways. You know, I actually do like Blackbeard quite a lot, which was surprising and also I’m pretty sure he’ll die very soon so i’m already sad in anticipation

The scenes between Flint and Madi are so interesting - they both are similar, in the way that they have this ~aura~ of authority even when they’re in a terrible situation

Now getting close to the end of the show (i mean, still 9 episodes to go but), I still think the fifth episode of the second season is one of the best of the whole show, perhaps one of the best episodes I have ever seen. I love the last scene and the absolute mood splash of going from Flint absolute heartbroken with his memories of Thomas to BAM! surprise Vane murder attack in the spam of five seconds.

Also… Vane had to be hiding very close, so it’s not a stretch to say that he heard the conversation between Flint and Miranda especially since they were SHOUTING most of it, and if he paid any attention it could carry the implication that he knew since then that Flint was in love with a man and just. never touched the subject with no one ever

There’s something real sad about Eleanor’s path during the show - how she goes from someone full of passion and ambition and goals to someone that, in order to save herself, becomes a shell of what she once was, betraying herself and everything she ever stood for

tagged as: bruna watching black sails;  like max says - 'it bothers me that i doesn't bother you';  something really sad about her wanting to see nassau independent and freen then turning into a colonialist tool;  and free**;

Finished the third season of Black Sails and damn, what a fantastic narrative this season has, everything so neat and tight, especially this last episode. Flint telling Silver about Thomas and their relationship, Flint and Silver posing themselves as characters discussing about their unavoidable clash someday… Billy crafting a narrative inside a narrative and using Silver as the unaware protagonist of a dissident movement…

I think Black Sails is one of the most well written shows I have ever seen tbh like well written under every single aspect

The dynamic of Eleanor and Max in the third season is very interesting, to see them working together. Max is right when she says that she essentially is Eleanor now, but I think she’s more… self aware than Eleanor ever was in the sense that she knows that she’s putting herself and her position of power above the people she loves and who loves her.

Also interesting is that despite their horrid break up, I think there’s still a little bit of love there. There’s at least a mutual level of respect, in Eleanor doing the only thing she can demand in this situation (that Anne won’t be provoked, that they won’t shoot her), and Max warning her about the gossip going around between Eleanor and Rogers, helping her decide to sleep with him to make her relationship with him (and her chances of survival) less shaky.

I mean it is sad to see them put into this place where they’re aiding the colonialist forces and undermining any sort of resistence, but it is a natural conclusion of their path in the story so far, and it is very enticing to see them interacting this close once again.
