[The Dominion War was the best thing to ever happen to Star Trek.]

You may win this war, Commander, but I promise you, when it is over, you will have lost so many ships, so many lives, that your victory will taste as bitter as defeat.

While DS9 is considered the darkest Star Trek series, and I’m inclined to agree, it constantly floors me that by the end of the show, the Federation, Klingons, and Romulans stood together to fight the common enemy. I just think this is such an important development that a lot of the other shows lack.

I’ll tell you one thing, nephew. If the Federation had listened to the Ferengi Alliance there never would have been a war. We would have reached an accommodation. We would have sat across the negotiation table and hammered out a peace treaty. One that both sides could live with.

Rule of Acquisition one twenty five. You can’t make a deal if you’re dead.
