I don’t know about the popularity of this fanfic, but I found this for accident, and I couldn’t stop reading it for three days - and I really liked, so I had to recommend. Sometimes I thought I would explode because of the sexual tension and all - how I said previously, there’s no sex here, not even near - but it’s an amazing story. It’s a bit long, but totally worth reading it. The psychological issues, the new feelings and all the situations - the most of them are dark - are great. Also, it’s not like this factor influences in the reading, but the author is a guy. I just fucking love guys writing fanfiction slash, because it’s so rare to see men in the fandom. xD

Instead she falls and hits her head, freaks out Leonard into Over-Protective-Dad mode, & has to lamely stay in Sickbay for the rest of the trip. How much worse can it get? Try Jim wanting to tell her a story to help pass the time. Why should Joanna care about some planet named Ardana, & the High Advisor’s daughter that gets kidnapped by a pirate? Especially when Jim insists there’s romance involved - ew. But when the story starts to reveal that Jim, Spock, & Leonard kidnapped a princess - topped by some adventure and swashbuckling - well, maybe it is worth listening to. Especially when it reveals that Leonard - er, her father - might be someone whom she might unexpectedly like, after all.
Summary 2: This is a Reboot version of the TOS episode “The Cloud Minders”, told as a Princess Bride AU.
Well, well, thanks to this story, I am now shipping Vanna and Droxine. It’s not like I needed more pairings to ship, but still, they are never too much. It’s a delicious story, but I must warn that, unlike the majority of the stories that I recommend, this one lacks porn. Actually, even that the romance is part of the plot, it’s secondary; this is most a adventure story. A really good one.

I always had a soft spot for Betazoids - after Vulcans, they certainly are my favorite Star Trek aliens - but I never thought in Kirk like one of them, so, it was amazing how much good I found this story. The development of the relationship between Kirk and Spock is just beautiful here.

I’m reading pretty beautiful fics, and seeing gorgeous arts, almost make me sad, because I’m a very poor taxpayer for this amazing fandom.
One of these days, I’ll do some posts of rec fics, because everything is so pretty and I can’t. I just have one limitation in this fandom, with fics rating R/M: I read only Top!Spock. Really. I can’t process a bottom Spock and a Top Kirk, I already try, but I discovered that doesn’t work to me.
