LotR genuinely had no right being as good as it was, how did filmmaking peak so perfectly in the early 2000s with a crazy mishmash cast and a self-made director who only bought a studio because he took out a loan against his house to buy an abandoned paint factory, how come late 90s cgi-video-game-elves look better than high tech movies now, how come nothing else has consistently incredible acting, soundtrack, set design and effects, writing, emotion, platonic affection and pure romance

In the land of Mordor, in the fires of Mount Doom, the Dark Lord Sauron forged in secret a master Ring, to control all others. And into this Ring he poured his cruelty, his malice and his will to dominate all life. One Ring to rule them all.

I wonder if people will ever say, ‘Let’s hear about Frodo and the Ring.’ And they’ll say ‘Yes, that’s one of my favorite stories. Frodo was really courageous, wasn’t he, dad.’ ‘Yes, my boy, the most famousest of hobbits. And that’s saying a lot.’ You left out one of the chief characters. Samwise the Brave. I want to hear more about Sam. Frodo wouldn’t have got far without Sam.

many of you disagree with me and i need you to understand that my post is not an opinion, this is fact. its fact. the entirety of lord of the rings and the conclusion of its plot (the saving of the world!) relies on sams love for frodo. is legolas going to fucking carry me up mount doom? is legolas going to hold my psyche together as the ring ravages my sanity? is legolas going to save me from orcs? is legolas going to go to great lengths to see me not just safe, but happy? i dont know! we dont have that evidence! legolas is a good guy, sure, but sam did that. and also getting married then having a nice quiet life in the shire is fucking sexy. get over yourselves

and secondable

  1. merry is sexier than legolas because legolas cant buy you weed. no one would sell weed to legolas because he has no people skills and would sound like a cop
