So
I went to a symphonic orchestra on my city this morning. It was a tribute to the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death, so they were playing Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream songs. There was also a couple of actors who were reciting some dialogue from the play between the songs
It was a really good experience, and I enjoyed every moment of it. My first time seeing live orchestra, and I hope I can see it more times because it was a truly gorgeous experience.
So
My script was read in class yesterday, and it went actually much better than I had thought it would [mostly because there were just a few people on class yesterday and because I didn’t had to read 85 pages on my own, the reading was split between my colleagues]
All in all was actually a good experience, and I’m thinking about continuing to work in this script.
My teacher and lots of my colleagues told me they liked the story and had a lot of compliments, and I was so happy with it because I was so, so very nervous before. And I’m usually very sensitive to criticism (which yeah… it’s not a good thing) but I actually took pretty well the critiques they made. Some of them I even noticed as I was writing, but I didn’t had the time to come back to fix it. We had a very short time to write it and this semester is full, so I practically wrote this entire thing in two days.
The worst part, really, was when my teacher kind of suggested that I should kill my other protagonist, and no. Nope. I’m not killing any lesbians here. No lesbians dying on my watch.

Posting it because I finally remembered to put English subtitle on this. This short movie has some history ~~
A few months ago, all the teachers of my state were in a strike - it was kind of a big deal, and it lasted a long time compared with the others strikes, so, when the classes came back, all the teachers were really rushing the content of the disciplines.
One of the consequences was that, in one of my disciplines we had to make short movies in like, two weeks when we normally would have at least a month. Me and my colleagues’ lack of expertise added to the short time [and lack of resources] showed up in some aspects, and I really wish I had more time to at least make a decent edition on the script [we didn’t have the time to edit it, so this text is my first draft, exactly as it was when I first wrote it], but all in all I’m quite fond of the result ~~
[Also, one last observation: we had to base the script in the aesthetic/elements of the history of scenes of movies preselected in previous classes. In our case, I had to base the script in some plot elements of one of the first scenes of ‘The Hours’ and the last scene of 'Rosemary’s Baby’.]

rules: once you’ve been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 92 truths about you. At the end choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you.
I was tagged by dreamhomeheartache - thank you :D
1. Write your name in song titles
Battle For The Sun - Placebo
Raw Power - The Stooges
Underneath the Sycamore - Death Cab for Cutie
New Generation - Suede
Andy Warhol - David Bowie
2. Why did you choose your URL?
Because of both the movie and the David Bowie song named “Velvet Goldmine”.
3. What’s your middle name?
I don’t have one
4. If you could be a fictional/fairytale being, what would you be?
Well I don’t really know? But sometimes I like to imagine that I’m a Vulcan tbh
5. Favourite colour
Red
6. Favourite song
… no idea, really. It really, really changes with the moment. But you can put The Boy With The Thorn In His Side by The Smiths, my most heard track on last.fm. And also Lullaby, by The Cure.
7. Top 4 fandoms
Hmmm… Star Trek, of course, especially the small but beloved DS9 corner. Also, Torchwood (even if I don’t participate that much), Queer as Folk (same) and Hannibal (because I’m a bit obsessed with the show lately)
8. Why do you enjoy tumblr?
I don’t know… part of it is habit I guess? But I like how many people that I follow and that follows me doesn’t really know me personally the way people on Facebook does, for example, and that I can make as many fandom posts as I want without fearing people judging me tbh. I mean, tumblr can be pretty nasty at times and it really annoys me, but all in all, I usually feel comfortable here and it become my favorite social media.
9. Tag 9 of your mutuals
I don’t really tag people for this kind of stuff because I don’t know who liked and who doesn’t like answering, but any mutual can feel free to do it ~~
