Okay, I’ve had it. Kirk and Spock flirt all the fucking time, it’s ridiculous. I could watch an episode a dozen times and STILL find evidence of flirting I’ve never noticed. What is with Miri in particular? Did they fuck right before the events of this episode? LOOK AT THIS SCENE I TOTALLY MISSED.
1. Kirk stares at Spock for a long time, clearly deciding to initiate pig tail pulling.
2. He addresses McCoy, keeping his voice in range of sensitive Vulcan ears.
3. Just as he or anyone could predict, McCoy responds with a comment about Spock’s green blood.
4. Spock hmms, walks over to the group and makes a return comment about red blood.
5. McCoy is the one who made the comment, but he doesn’t look up from his work.
6. Spock gives the folder a sassy flip closed, and shoots Kirk a total smoldering look of, “I see what you did thar, you are such a cute human.”
I repeat: Kirk wants to flirt with Spock. He trolls Spock using a McCoy decoy. Spock knows that Kirk is flirting and responds just to him. McCoy is so used to this interplay that he just keeps doing his work. They are married. IN SPACE.
