I just want there to be a thing where kirk and uhura spend all their free time bitching about the various ways spock pisses them off
and they meet up for lunch every day
and comm each other every night
kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirk:
There was no movement from Kirk at all.
What breaks my heart the most about these reactions is that everyone has suddenly become their own opposite in the face of Kirk’s death. Energetic, joking Scotty looks like he’s aged at least ten years with grief, like he’ll never smile again. Strong, put-together Uhura completely breaks down. Spock gives no fucks about holding in his emotions. Bones looks like a child who just watched one of his parents walk out on him forever. They aren’t Jim’s crew anymore, not in these brief moments. They’re entirely different people.
Captain Kirk has been stabbed in his quarters, apparently by Ensign Bearclaw. Kirk crawls toward his communication terminal to call for help, but collapses before he reaches it…
On the bridge, Spock becomes aware that something is wrong with Kirk. He orders a medical team to the captain’s cabin and joins them there himself. Dr. McCoy and the other medical officers are unable to open the sealed door, but Spock pulls it open with his bare hands. Kirk is rushed to Sickbay…(x)
- Star Trek #53 - You’re, Dead Jim,
Star Trek: The Original Series (DC Comics, Series One)
Jim: Spock! How did—? Where are we?
-Kirk looked around completely rattled, seeing Spock suddenly, unsure of what to do and all he knew to do was to clasp hard onto Spock’s shoulders like before-
Spock: Jim..
-The simple name brought kirk to a stop, replacing his confusion with comfort-
Spock: The explanation to your travels, is a bit…complicated. However, I shall spare you the technicalities of it as it could take more than one day to explicate. If you recall our venture to save our old doctor when he stepped into the guardian of forever, similar events occurred to retrieve you. We are currently in an alternate universe, filled with more than we could have ever expected. Do you remember your last whereabouts?
-Jim blinked, only partly understanding what Spock had said for now-
Jim: I’m just glad to find that you don’t have a beard this time.
-He chuckled slightly and remembered Spock’s question.-
Jim: It’s all a complete blur…I…I was dead?! or at least about to die…? There was some sort of struggle but then there was also — Spock, did I die twice?
Spock: From what I recall, you did, in two quite different ways at different times. But you were saved moments before…Ahh….I suppose our old universe now also has changes because of it. You would have seemed to disappear then, Jim.
Jim: Well despite all this, what’s strange is finding you breaking the rules.
-After all was explained, memories rebuilt and continued, Spock and Jim find themselves at another planet, living, watching life swing them into their emeritus years — as Jim’s hologram had once planned.-
Spock: Jim, may I ask what you’re doing?
Jim: Making breakfast, if you thought bringing me back was incredible wait until you taste something that’s not from a replicator! now get out, I’ll bring it up soon….
I just watched an interview with Zachary Quinto and Leonard Nimoy and they were talking about how one of the first things Leonard said to Zach was “You have no idea what you’re in for, kid,“ and they discussed that for a bit and then Leonard was just like
"Have they found your house yet?”
