"Your being my son has brought me nothing but joy. Even now, when you’re standing there hating me, all I can think is: I’m glad he’s here to hate me, because it means he’s still alive. It means he didn’t die.“ He smiled. ā€œOh, I’m sure that if I tried I could find a way to communicate with Bajor for you. But I won’t do it, because I want you to stay alive. I’m sorry if that makes you hate me even more. But I’m glad that you’re here to love and hate as you choose."

So

I’m trying to read the novelization of ‘The Search For Spock’, but my ebook is all messed up and missing entire sentences and nothing makes sense

Anyone have a link with a decent ebook of this novel?

Odo eased himself into the seat next to Garak. “I forgot to ask,” he said, “how was Earth?” At the far end of the bar, Quark put the stopper in the bottle of Saurian brandy he had been watering and came over eagerly to listen.

Garak put down his glass, opened his mouth to speak, stopped, thought for a while, considered replying, and then thought for a little while longer.

“I was punched repeatedly by pacifists,” he said at last.

Kirk grinned. “I wouldn’t presume to debate you.”

“That is wise.” Spock stood up. “In any case, were the circumstances otherwise, logic would still dictate that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.”

“Or the one?”

“Admiral—” Spock said. He stopped, then began again. “Jim, you are my superior officer. But you are also my friend. I have been, and remain, yours. I am offering you the truth as I perceive it, for myself and for you.

Vejur was everything that Spock had ever dreamed of becoming. And yet Vejur was barren! It would never feel pain. Or joy. Or challenge. It was so completely and magnificently logical that its accumulation of knowledge was totally useless.

Spock laughed again. Then he saw Kirk’s face. He reached out weakly and found Kirk’s arm, then his hand, and took a startled Kirk’s hand in his own.

“Jim,” Spock said.

McCoy looked his astonishment at the visible and unashamed emotion on Spock’s face as he clutched Kirk’s hand.

Kirk returned the pressure and brought his other hand to cover Spock’s, holding it between both of his, signaling Spock that there was no shame in either giving or in answering fully.

“This simple feeling… “- Spock struggled for strength - ” …is so far… beyond Vejur’s comprehension…

So, I spent the last dawn ending to read ‘The price of the Phoenix’.

It’s a good story - sometimes that made me think 'WTF’ but, after all, this is a Star Trek story. Nothing more normal than have strange things.

And about Kirk and Spock in this book… oh, well, what can I say?

I swear, I really forgot for many times that it was a book and not a fanfic, because it is so gay! There’s nothing better than have a pairing that is supported for the creator of the show, for the entire cast and for the writers.

I am currently reading ‘The Price of the Phoenix’ and, wow guys, you all weren’t kidding about all the slash feelings. Half of the time I forget that I am reading a novel and think that I am reading a slash fanfic.
