“Face it, Q,” Picard told him. “You’ve been hanging around humans
too much. Your system has not been able to build up proper immunities to
us, and we’re becoming contagious. You’re coming down with a terminal
case of humanity.”
“Picard,” said Q, with a bit of the old arrogance. “Get some hair. Your brain has caught cold.”
And with a burst of light and sound, he vanished.
“Good riddance,” rumbled Worf.
“Oh, I don’t know,” said Picard slowly. “I hate to admit it… but I’m starting to get used to him.”
“Captain, you’re joking!” Riker said in horror.
Picard turned towards him. “Oh, of course I am, Number One.” But he wasn’t entirely sure that he was.

Not only do I LOVE this, but um, I saw this at a used bookstore earlier today (yes, while vainly checking for certain DS9 spin-off novels) and:
TWO OF THE MOST POWERFUL FORCES IN THE UNIVERSE ARE ABOUT TO COLLIDE
(… yeah, I bought it.)
Q-in-Law is genuinely one of the most delightful ST books I’ve ever read.
Okay, but do you know the behind the scenes element of Q-in-Law? Peter David was having issues getting it published, with the studio not sending him any editorial notes on it, effectively turning him down, so he went direct to Majel Barrett at a convention. She asked to read the manuscript, and proceeded to go to the Paramount offices, GUSHING about it. Within days, he got the comments from the office.
Also the audiobook version actually has Majel Barrett AND John de Lancie reading it.
Seriously, if you’re a Trek fan, you can’t go wrong with this book.
I own this, and it is great. And I hadn’t heard the last bit. Wonderful.
